Announcing our Trail Life High Adventure Summer Outing for 2022.  The plan this year is to ride the Great Allegheny Passage and C&O Canal Trails, a distance of 335 miles.  The outing is planned for starting in Pittsburgh on June 25, with a completion on July 2 in Georgetown.  [Some modifications, yet to be determined, might make the completion on Sunday, July 3.]

The final shakedown ride will be on the C&O Canal Towpath starting at Point of Rocks May 13-15.

The cost for this summer outing is $300 per person.  This cost will cover all of the Team Supplies, a commemorative cycling jersey, food to be eaten on the trail, and any meals that we eat at restaurants for both the “big event” and the two shakedown rides.  Extra jersey’s are available at $30 each.  Deadline for jersey order is May 19, 2022.

Finally, attached are various documents to help move your planning along:

• A packing list.  Two main blocks of gear: your personnel gear (toiletries, clothes, etc) and Team gear that is provided by the Trail Life High Adventure Outing team (you do not need to buy this stuff).

• The health and medical forms.  Two Medical forms are required:

  • The Adult and Youth Member Health record can be filled out by an adult or parent.

  • As this is an outing exceeding 72 hours, everyone (adults and youth) must also have the High Adventure Medical Exam Form completed.  This form is completed and signed by your doctor, so a visit is required.

  • Both of these forms are only valid for 12 months.
