Join other troops in and around Virginia at Shalom Farms the weekend of July 12-14. There is no cost for this event. Troop will need to provide all their own food and camping equipment. Toilet facilities are available. Plan to arrive July 13 sometime late afternoon and camp out in a field next to the barn and farm equipment the night of the 12th and 13th.
We will work in the fields Saturday from 9-noon. There is no other farm related activity that day. A beekeeping clinic will be held in the afternoon. Troops are welcome to plan any other activity they would like the remainder of the time. We break camp on Sunday morning.
Since there is no formal planned activities beyond the farm work on Saturday morning and beekeeping Saturday afternoon. I’m asking each troop to think about how they might contribute with campfire activities, games and Sunday worship time.
This camp is for Navigators and Adventurers…and possibly mature Mountain Lions (this will be the call of the troop leadership).

Our mission is to work with communities to ensure access to healthy food and the support to lead healthy lives.
We believe everyone should have good food– food that is good for our bodies, good for the environment, and good for our communities. However, thousands in Richmond lack access to healthy food. Many people also lack the tools and resources to cook it, eat it, and share it. Through sustainable agriculture and hands-on experiences, Shalom Farms works with communities to ensure access to healthy food, and the support to lead healthy lives.
